The AFR accomodation Ground Zero is the Amaroo Hotel Dubbo, but as it was posted in the members section first and the rooms look like they're full, for any non members or lurkers here's some alternate accomodation choices.
The RSL Motel would be the closest to the Amaroo Hotel.

It's a bit swankier than the old Amaroo and you'll be looing at $119 a night.

The Aberdeen (Best Western) is right at the end of the main st on the corner of Cobra st. No idea what the cost is so you'll have to check it out.
Aberdeen Motor Inn
25 Cobra Street, Dubbo AU, +61-2-6884-1700
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few more just up from there are the Homestead, the Matilda and the Blue Gum. These are no more than a 10 minute walk from the Amaroo.
Good luck and let us know how you go.
P.S. If anyone thinks they've missed out...The Amaroo was offered to paid up members (supporters) first to show appreciation for their support of the site.
All day and night events are open to everyone attending...the only difference will be you might have to walk/stummble 200m to your digs:D
